The best place to install the EGT probe is in the exhaust manifold before the turbo. You must make sure after drilling and tapping the exhaust manifold that no metal shavings enter the turbo housing. Using a pen magnet and vacuum will help remove the shavings. You can install the probe within 6-8 inches of the turbo.
