The best install location for an accurate Exhaust temperature reading is to install the Exhaust temperature probe into the Exhaust manifold where all the cylinders exhaust meet into one and before the turbo. You always want to ensure the tip of the Exhaust Temperature probe is no more than the halfway point inside the exhaust manifold.
